ITINERARY
The guide will meet you at the hotel or meeting point. The journey will start by visiting Sunda Kelapa Harbour which is the first place in Jakarta where the foreign traders step their feet into. Many wooden phinisi ships still stand strong in the Harbour and keep interesting stories from their journey to tell. Next, make your way to one of the oldest residence of Chinese Indonesian in Jakarta. You will be explained how the Chinese Peranakan assimilate with the local culture to create harmony in many aspects including architecture and cuisine. Leisurely walk in small alleys to witness the unique items sold in the market. From there we will explore the Old Town Square. The place is used to be a city hall, high court, underground prison and execution field during the colonial era. Hear the stories about good and bad events that taken place here. At this point there will be time for lunch break (at own cost).
There are plenty cafes located in the Old Town Square. After immersing yourself with the facts about Jakarta, the journey will continue to two splendid worship venues : Istiqlal Mosque, the biggest mosque in Southeast Asia and the neo-gothic Cathedral Church. Also, prepare to set up your camera as we pass by the National Monument. It is the icon of the city and the symbol of the Indonesian people’s endeavor. The guide will answer your questions and will bring the group back to the hotel or meeting point.
**All museums in Jakarta close on Monday and Indonesian Public Holiday. For those days, instead of going inside the museum, the group will be brought for walking tour around the museum with the same explanation**

Allowed number of participants: 1 – 12 pax per group. If more than 12 pax, please contact us to customize the tour.

Time Schedule in the website is only for reference. You can pick your own preference of tour schedule (ex. 08:00, 09:00) as long as it still available. However, once it’s confirmed each tour is scheduled to depart on time.
Please inform us your requested meeting point and ending point. The pickup is free as along as it is in DKI Jakarta area (Jakarta Special Region).
Important things:
Participant are advised to dress appropriately for weather conditions, it is highly recommended to carry an umbrella or raincoat in case of rainy weather. Or as well a hat and sunglasses for hot weather.
As we will visit some religous sites, it is encouraged to wear modest, conservate clothing (long pants, sleeve t-shrt, shirt). However, the mosque will provide a free robe for the tourist
The tour will still run either sunny or rainy conditions.
