    For those interested in exploring Old Batavia (also known as Kota Tua or Old Jakarta), don’t miss the chance to delve into its rich history and stories on our tour called “A Walk In Batavia.”

    Led by a certified English-speaking guide, we will uncover the former glory of Kota Tua, which served as the headquarters for the VOC (Dutch East India Company) in Asia. We will then leisurely stroll through the remnants of Dutch colonial urban planning and architecture from the 17th to 18th centuries in Old Batavia. Along the way, we’ll pass by landmarks such as the oldest wooden drawbridge in the area, BI Museum (formerly De Javasche Bank), Kota Railways Station, Old Town Square and among others.

    In approximately three hours, we’ll trace the footsteps of the VOC era while gaining insights into the significance of Batavia (now Jakarta) during the Dutch colonial period. Don’t forget to capture photos of the iconic spots along the route.

    Dibimbing oleh pemandu berlisensi, kita akan mengungkap kejayaan masa lalu Kota Tua, yang pernah menjadi markas besar bagi VOC (Perserikatan Perusahaan Hindia Timur Belanda) di Asia. Kemudian, kita akan berjalan santai melalui sisa-sisa perencanaan urban dan arsitektur kolonial Belanda dari abad ke-17 hingga ke-18 di Kota Tua. Sepanjang perjalanan, kita akan melewati landmark seperti jembatan kayu tertua di daerah itu, Museum BI (dulu De Javasche Bank), Stasiun Kereta Api Kota, Lapangan Kota Tua, dan lainnya.

    Dalam waktu kurang lebih tiga jam, kita akan mengikuti jejak era VOC sambil mendapatkan wawasan tentang pentingnya Batavia (Jakarta) selama periode kolonial Belanda. Jangan lupa untuk mengabadikan foto-foto spot ikonis di sepanjang rute.

    Allowed number of participants:  1 – 17 Pax. If more than 17 pax, please contact us to customize the tour.

    For Private Tour, please reserve by the latest 5 days before the tour day. If there is any request for urgent tours, please contact us via Whatsapp/Email. (ticketing@walkindies.com)

    Time Schedule in the website is only for reference. You can pick your own preference of tour schedule (ex. 08:00, 09:00) as long as it still available. However, once it’s confirmed each tour is scheduled to depart on time.

    Things to note:

    Participant are advised to dress appropriately for weather conditions, it is highly recommended to carry an umbrella or raincoat in case of rainy weather. Or as well a hat and sunglasses for hot weather.

    Still, the tour will be delivered either sunny or rainy conditions.

    During the tour, please take care of your personal belonging, all forms of lost are not the responsibility of Walk Indies.

    The itinerary might be adjusted at any time depending on the situation and conditions met on the field.

    This tour is not recommended for wheelchairs user and strollers.

    Children must be accompanied by an adult.

    Bookings & cancelations:

    Orders will be confirmed by email after payment has been verified.

    The number of participants can be increased (at an additional price), but cannot be reduced once confirmed

    Strictly no refund & no cancellation once a tour is confirmed. Unless cancelled by Walk Indies for any reason.
