For those interested in exploring Old Batavia (also known as Kota Tua or Old Jakarta), don’t miss the chance to delve into its rich history and stories on our tour called “A Walk In Batavia.”

Led by a certified English-speaking guide, we will uncover the former glory of Kota Tua, which served as the headquarters for the VOC (Dutch East India Company) in Asia. We will then leisurely stroll through the remnants of Dutch colonial urban planning and architecture from the 17th to 18th centuries in Old Batavia. Along the way, we’ll pass by landmarks such as the oldest wooden drawbridge in the area, BI Museum (formerly De Javasche Bank), Kota Railways Station, Old Town Square and among others.

In approximately three hours, we’ll trace the footsteps of the VOC era while gaining insights into the significance of Batavia (now Jakarta) during the Dutch colonial period. Don’t forget to capture photos of the iconic spots along the route.

The tour will be conducted in English.

We recommend bringing additional supplies such as sunscreen, an umbrella, a rain jacket, and other personal items.

Please take care of your personal belongings; any loss is not the responsibility of the organizer.

This tour is not recommended for wheelchairs or strollers.

Pregnant women are advised to confirm in advance.

RESHEDULE & REFUND POLICY

Tours are non-refundable unless WALK INDIES cancels.

Tours will only be canceled if the minimum number of participants is not reached, in which case the tour fee will be fully refunded.

The itinerary is subject to change depending on circumstances.

Tours can be rescheduled free of charge with confirmation no later than 10 days before the tour date.

If a participant wishes to reschedule within 10 days or 24 hours of the tour date, a rescheduling fee of IDR 110,000 per person will be charged.

If the request is made less than 24 hours before the tour date, the participant will be considered to have made a new purchase (no rescheduling).
