Walking Tour – A Walk in Batavia (Old Batavia) – 21 December 2025
For those interested in exploring Old Batavia (also known as Kota Tua or Old Jakarta), don’t miss the chance to delve into its rich history and stories on our tour called “A Walk In Batavia.”
Led by a certified English-speaking guide, we will uncover the former glory of Kota Tua, which served as the headquarters for the VOC (Dutch East India Company) in Asia. We will then leisurely stroll through the remnants of Dutch colonial urban planning and architecture from the 17th to 18th centuries in Old Batavia. Along the way, we’ll pass by landmarks such as the oldest wooden drawbridge in the area, BI Museum (formerly De Javasche Bank), Kota Railways Station, Old Town Square and among others.
In approximately three hours, we’ll trace the footsteps of the VOC era while gaining insights into the significance of Batavia (now Jakarta) during the Dutch colonial period. Don’t forget to capture photos of the iconic spots along the route.
